Privacy Policy

The short version: the app collects nothing, the website collects almost nothing, and the one time we learn anything about you is when you buy something, because a receipt needs an email address.

The app

Wisp has no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, and no crash reporting. It does not phone home. Your documents live as plain files on your disk and are never transmitted to us. We could not read your writing if we wanted to; there is no pipe.

When you use an AI feature, the relevant text is sent to the model endpoint you configured: a local model on your machine (in which case nothing leaves it), or a remote provider with your own API key (in which case that provider's privacy policy governs that request). Wisp sends text only when you trigger an action, and the "What was sent" preview shows you the exact payload.

Licence keys are verified entirely on your machine. There is no activation server to log you.

The website

wispwriter.com is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is served through Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses transiently to deliver the site and defend it from abuse.

The checkout is an embedded overlay from Paddle, our merchant of record. If you open it, Paddle collects what a payment legally requires (email, billing country, payment details) under Paddle's privacy policy. We receive your email address and what you bought, never your payment details.

What we keep

For each sale: the email address, the product, and the licence key we issued for it. We keep this so we can resend lost keys and honour refunds. We do not send marketing email. If you write to support, we keep the correspondence.

Your rights

Email to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Deleting a purchase record also deletes our ability to resend your key, so we'll confirm before doing it. Whatever data-protection law applies where you live (GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, or another), we honour its requests the same way.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted on this page.
